Vintage Classic Air Cooled Porsche 911 Engine Fan Restoration and Refinishing
This pursuit started out of frustration with ugly and or painted-over fan hubs on new engines. Fan hub rivets were often drilled out and replaced with screws that didn't fit and looked horrible. Our answer to this issue was to develop rivets and a setting fixture to secure the fan hub to the fan the way the Factory did it. Our philosophy is that the cooling fan is the signature of the 911 engine- it's the focal point of the engine compartment and the first thing seen when opening an engine lid. We refinish fans in keeping with traditional standards of aesthetics where imperfections are a welcome attribute. Fans and hubs are separated, blasted with dry media, prepared and coated to preserve and protect the substrate. Once plating and coating are completed, each fan is reunited with it's hub the same way it was when it left Stuttgart.
Porsche Fan Rivets
Our aircraft-grade rivets are made in Germany under DIN 661 ISO 9002 standards. They are the same dimensions as the original rivet from Porsche. The rivets are set in a press operated by hand to avoid cracking of the fan.
